Direct Answer
The Chase Sapphire Reserve card does not include personal auto insurance for your own vehicle; it only offers rental car collision damage waiver (CDW) coverage when you pay for the rental with the card.

Rental Car Collision Damage Waiver
When you use the Sapphire Reserve to pay for a rental car, you receive primary CDW coverage that reimburses you for damage or theft of the rental, up to the policy limits. This protection applies worldwide, excludes certain vehicle types (e.g., luxury, oversized, or off‑road vehicles), and requires you to decline the rental agency's own CDW.
What Is Not Covered
The card's benefits do not extend to your personal automobile insurance policy, liability for accidents you cause, or medical expenses for you or passengers. Those remain under your personal auto insurance or other coverage.
How to Activate the Benefit
To use the CDW, book the rental with the Sapphire Reserve, decline the agency's collision coverage, and retain the receipt. In the event of a claim, you must submit the rental agreement, proof of payment, and a police report if theft or damage occurs.
