The contract number is printed on every official policy document, including the cover page, the policy summary, and any endorsements. Open the original paper copy or the PDF version you received when you first enrolled.

Check Your Online Account
Log in to American General's online portal. Once inside, navigate to the policy details or account summary section; the contract number appears near the top of the page, often labeled "Policy #" or "Contract #."
Email and Mail Statements
Monthly or quarterly statements sent by mail or email contain the contract number in the header or footer. Search your email inbox for "American General" and open recent statements.
Phone or Chat Support
If the documents are missing, call the customer service number on the back of your card or visit the website's chat feature. Have a valid ID or policy ID ready; the representative will retrieve the contract number after verifying your identity.
Mobile App Retrieval
Download the American General mobile app. Sign in and select the policy from the dashboard; the contract number is listed under policy details.
