In areas with expansive clay, addressing moisture management around the foundation is as important as lifting the slab. In sandy or eroded soils, fixing the drainage path that created the void prevents the same problem from returning.

Long-term protection starts with water control and soil stability. Steps that help include:

  • Grading soil away from the foundation so water flows outward.
  • Cleaning gutters and downspouts regularly and directing discharge far from the house.
  • Fixing leaking plumbing or outdoor irrigation lines promptly.
